HighPointe Farm and Training Center was established in 1998 by Ken Haggard and Hall of Fame Horse Trainer Jack Vanberg, who was the first trainer to win over 5,000 races.  The property was originally 734 acres of the 5,000-acre L’esprit community founded in 1983. It was built as an Arabian Horse Center called Lasma East Arabian Horse Center. Just three years later, after the Tax Reform Act of 1986, the Arabian market began to rapidly spiral downwards. Lasma East began to transition to one of Kentucky's prides and joys, Thoroughbred Racehorses. Over time, parcels of the original acreage were sold. To this day, L'Esprit remains a horse-based community with riding trails connecting all of the properties.

With a passion for the heritage of Kentucky Horse racing, the current owners came across the property and saw a vision to rehabilitate it for generations to come. It was officially bought by them in late 2021 and has undergone immense renovation and resurfacing. While a lot of work has been completed, it’s still ongoing and will continue to grow and improve in the years to come. Our 6 Amish-built cabins were debuted in late 2024. Located on two scenic lakes stocked for fishing, our luxury cabins provide comfort, countryside tranquility, and a taste of the Kentucky horseracing spirit.
